This work is personal for me…
After struggling through my own breastfeeding journey—and watching our youngest son struggle with eating, drinking, and sleeping—I kept hearing the same things:
“You’re not producing enough.”
“It’s normal for kids to grind their teeth and snore.”
But something about that never sat right with me.
I knew there had to be a reason—
something deeper than “normal.”
At the time, I was balancing life as a mom of two, a military spouse, and working in the dental field.
And the more I paid attention, the more I started to see the same patterns everywhere—mouth breathing, poor sleep, clenching, and habits that no one was really addressing at the root.
That’s what led me to myofunctional therapy.
As a registered dental hygienist with experience across multiple specialties—including pediatrics, orthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry—I had seen the outcomes.
But this was the first time I understood what was actually driving them.
My work now focuses on helping people connect those dots.
Instead of looking at symptoms in isolation, I look at how everything is functioning together—breathing, oral posture, muscle coordination, and daily habits.
Because when those patterns improve, everything connected to them starts to shift.
My interest in root-cause health also led me to pursue my Master’s in Holistic Nutrition, where I’ve continued to deepen my understanding of how the body functions as a whole system.
I didn’t know about myofunctional therapy when my family needed it most.
But now, I have the opportunity to help others understand what’s actually going on—and what to do next.
If that story feels familiar, you’re in the right place.
At Ohio Myofunctional Therapy, my goal is simple:
to help you find real solutions to the patterns affecting how you (or your child) breathe, sleep, and function every day.
